Taxpayers are footing the bill for road damage caused by trucks

A truck can create 20 thousand times more damage to our roads than the average car. But, due to date regulations, it’s cheaper for companies to use roads over rail or ships, and it’s the Australian taxpayer who’s footing the bill. Monday Daily producer Nicole Ng spoke to Philip Laird, an honorary fellow at the University of Wollongong, on the issue.
