Teaching Science through Senses

How do you learn about scientific concepts? Through images, your computer or maybe a documentary? These methods can put the deaf and hard of hearing community as well as the blind and low vision community at a disadvantage. So, how do we engage in science in a more accessible and innovative way?

A popular interactive science expo is back at the University of NSW and will be teaching science through smell, touch, sight and sound with tactile models and hands-on activities. The expo is open to the public, all ages welcome from kids to seniors  The expo is held on the 28th of November held at the University of New South Wales.

Jess spoke with Dr Jesse Goyette from the University of New South Wale’s Single Molecule Science to find out more about this expo.
