Tech Companies Disrupt the Transport Market

Tech companies have completely disrupted a lot of industries and fields,
news, entertainment, politics, communications. But one industry remains
elusive, transport. While ridesharing companies like Uber have seen
success, taxi-like point-to-point services only accounts for a fraction of
overall transport. So, there’s is a lot of more of the transport market that is
yet to feel the impacts of tech and a new generation of transport services
technologies could be the key to tech companies cracking the rest of the
market, which could be valued in the trillions of dollars.

Vincent Su spoke with Neil Sipe, Professor of Urban Planning at the
University of Queensland to find out more about why tech companies are
even trying to take on transport and the impacts they could have.
