The aged care sector cannot support CALD residents
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected most of the health system, including aged care.
Organisations and advocates are urging the Federal Government to push for additional culturally and linguistically diverse staff in Australia’s aged care sector to support residents with a different background.
Australia is a multicultural country, with many migrants adopting Australia as their home.
However, as the population ages, the CALD community has specific needs the aged care sector needs to provide, such as bilingual or multilingual staff and training on potential circumstances of racism.
