The Effect Of Mining On Foreign Nations’ Communities

A recent report from Action Aid Australia has revealed that lack of regulation of Australian mining companies in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and South Africa has been having a serious negative impact on the local women and communities in these areas, with occurrences of violence against women, increasing HIV rates, and unpaid labour. Whose responsibility is it to change this? And how should our new government be taking action? We were joined by Lucy Manne, Head of Campaigns from Action Aid Australia to discuss these findings.
