Let’s talk about sex (education)

In Australia, there is no nationwide curriculum for sex education, so not all young people are learning the same thing.

Recently in England sex ed reforms have introduced a more inclusive and diverse curriculum, raising questions about whether Australia should follow it’s lead and do the same.

This morning on Breakfast David Rhodes, senior lecturer in the School of Education at Edith Cowan University, called in to the studio to talk about what Australian sex ed is lacking, and where we can possibly go in the future. 

How do we appease both progressive and conservative groups? How do we ensure that we support and teach kids about sexuality in a way they understand?
