The History of Martian Exploration

As our closest neighbour in the solar system, Mars has long held the fascination of scientists and the community alike. It has been the subject of many expeditions since the 1970s. With several new missions set to arrive at the red planet this month including a new rover landing last month, it seems like the perfect opportunity to look back on what we have learnt so far, before looking forward to the future.

Dr. Tanya Hill, Senior Curator of Astronomy at Museums Victoria. She joined our producer Cameron Furlong to tell us about the history of Martian exploration, and what lies in store for Mars in the future.
