The Human Footprint in Antarctica

Antarctica may be one of earth’s most isolated and mysterious places. While it is home to an abundance of wildlife, the icy continent also houses numerous buildings and infrastructure, where people have been living and working for years. Shaun Brooks, a PhD Candidate from the University of Tasmania, was involved in research that looked at the human impact on the antarctic environment. The data, published recently in the journal Nature Sustainability, reveals for the first time ever, just what the effect of all this infrastructure looks like. Shaun joined us earlier on the Drive for a chat.
