The legacy of David Berman and the Silver Jews

Last week, we heard the news that David Berman, lead singer of the Silver Jews and the Purple Mountains, had died at the age of 52.

Berman left an indelible mark on American indie music, and soon became known as one of the best lyricists of his generation.

To discuss Berman’s legacy, The Daily‘s Wilamina Russo was joined by Evan Williams, a satirical writer for ABC’s 7.30 with Mark Humphries, The New Yorker and McSweeney’s, and – most importantly – a huge Silver Jews fan.

You can find Evan’s writing about Berman and the Silver Jews at Good Weekend.
