The link between gender roles and violence against women.

So far in 2018, 37 Australian women have been killed by violence.

Academic research suggests that traditional views towards gender often correlate with attitudes that support this type of violence. By challenging gender roles and teaching children about gender equality, we are taking preventative action to stop gender-based violence.

This morning on Breakfast Tess was joined by Dr. Gemma Hamilton, researcher on Gendered Violence and Abuse at RMIT University, to chat about the link between gender roles and violence against women.
