When we see an insect, our first reaction might be to grab the bug spray. However, insects play an important part in the maintenance of our environment and unfortunately, like many other animals, are under threat and killing them may be affecting us more than we think. The chemicals used in these sprays can also have serious implications for the urban ecosystem and public health. So what are some ways we can deal with these pests in our homes and communities? Manu Saunders, Research fellow at the University of New England, who was involved in research about more sustainable way to deal with urban insect pests, joined us on the line to discuss her research some more.
