The Wrong Gods at Belvoir St Theatre
The Wrong Gods is a fierce showdown between the old world and the new. It’s a play set in a remote village in India. A mother and daughter farm the soil as their ancestors did, until the daughter wants something more beyond the village – a city education and the opportunity it promises. Things change when a stranger visits the valley bringing new technology and a vision of the future putting centuries of traditions to the test.
The Wrong Gods is written and co-directed by seven-time Helpmann Award Winning playwright S.Shakthidharan, and directed by Hannah Goodwin. It stars just four actors – an all female and all South East Asian cast. Cast member Vaishnavi Suryaprakas joins Danny on 2SER Breakfast.
