This Day in History, August 27th

Grab a shovel and get digging through the strata of time, on today’s date in 410 Rome was sacked by the Visigoths, the first time in almost 800 years that Rome had fallen to a foreign enemy. Krakatoa erupted in one of the deadliest and most destructive volcanic events in recorded history, killing over 36,000 people, and the shortest war in world history was fought between the United Kingdom and Zanzibar in just 38 minutes. Plus we celebrate birthdays for Don Bradman, Aaron Paul, Alex Lifeson of Rush, and “Captain” Daryl Dragon.
