This Day in History, July 10th

According to legend, today is the day Lady Godiva rode naked on horseback through Coventry to force her husband to lower taxes, and the history books also tell us the Vellore Mutiny became the first instance of a mutiny by Indian sepoys against the British East India Company, over religion and fashion choices, the Scopes Trail or “Monkey Trial” of John T. Scopes began in spite of the fact the self-incriminating defendant wasn’t sure if he’d ever done anything wrong, and more, plus famous birthdays!
