This Day in History, March 26th

Sifting through the sands of time to discover, on today’s date the Siege of Algeciras, one of the first military engagements in Europe to use gunpowder, came to a surprising end. Future Mormon church leader Joseph Smith had the first vision of which he was to base his new religion, and sheriff’s deputies discovered the bodies of 39 members of the Heaven’s Gate religious cult in a house in the San Diego. Plus birthdays for Chips Rafferty, Leonard Nimoy, Steven Tyler and Diana Ross!
