Today is Purple Day, Epilepsy Awareness Day
Imagine you’re walking around your local mall, doing some shopping, and suddenly the person in front of you falls down and starts to have a seizure. Would you know what to do? Around 250,000 Australians are currently diagnosed with epilepsy, and more than 65 million people worldwide have the condition, making it the world’s most common serious brain disorder. But many people don’t have a clue how to help someone suffering an epileptic seizure.
Tess Connery was joined in the studio by Carol Ireland, CEO of Epilepsy Action Australia, to tell us more. If you’re interested in finding out more, or want to donate to today’s cause, you can head to www.epilepsy.org.au
