Tuesday Book Club: Bruny by Heather Rose

After a multi-million dollar bridge connecting Bruny island to mainland Tasmania is blown up, UN worker Astrid Coleman returns to her hometown of Tasmania upon the request of her conservative twin brother who is also Premier of Tasmania to put her skills to use as a conflict resolution expert.

The bridge has been met with much protest but also central to the storyline is why such an expensive bridge was built to connect the sleepy island of Bruny to mainland Tasmania.

Written by award winning Australian and Tasmanian-native author Heather Rose, Bruni is a political thriller set in the near future that delves into the themes of conservation, family and international relations.
