Turning Air Pollution in to Art with Allan Giddy

Allan Giddy is a New Zealand-born installation artist, based in Sydney, who has turned pollution into ethereal, unnerving art.

Motivated to draw attention to the climate and pollution, Allan’s latest exhibition, Mining Thin Air, is made purely by filtering air pollution through silk screens. His artworks feature a variety of Australian landscapes, both natural and man-made. His works have also been exhibited at the Tate Modern alongside numerous other international galleries.

Allan sits down with Beth Hopkins on Tuesday Drive to walk through the process of his art and discuss his exhibition, which is on display until the 29th of June at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf.
