Water discrepancies in the Murray-Darling river basin

This week the Guardian reported on current discrepancies occurring over water distribution in the ‘Murray-Darling river basin plan’. Our guest this morning was David Papps, the former Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, involved in the construction of the basin plan reform. Recent accusations of New South Wales and Victoria have emerged, as a result of growing demand of irrigators and active failure of enforcement of the basin plan. Now, the near future calls for a discussion about the long term effects of use and exploitation of water within the region.
