TV: Wakefield by Kristen Dunphy

This Australian TV series, created by screenwriter Kristen Dunphy, follows the lives of staff and patients at Wakefield psychiatric hospital in the Blue Mountains of NSW, weaving together different experiences of trauma to show something we don’t normally see on television.

Film: Wander Darkly by Tara Miele

This US drama, written and directed by Tara Miele, explores memory and loss. A couple, Adrienne and Matteo, get in a car accident. In what follows, Miele takes us through fragments of their past, moving through the surreal to uncover the truth about the accident.

TV: Brand New Cherry Flavour by Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion

This US horror show, created by Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion, and based on the book by Todd Grimson, is wacky and wild. Set in the early ‘90s in Hollywood, Lisa comes to LA to try and make her short film into a feature, but falls in with a nefarious producer. It’s got zombies, hitmen and supernatural kittens.
