The newest film by Oscar winning director Bong Joon-ho, Mickey 17 is a science fiction black comedy film based on the 2022 novel Mickey7. Robert Pattison plays the titular Mickey, who joins a space colony as an ‘expendable’ which is a disposable worker that is cloned every time he dies for research purposes.

Film: Hard Truths

The latest film by great British filmmaker Mike Leigh, which reunites him with Secrets and Lies star Marianne Jean-Baptise. Television: The Red King

A six-episode British crime drama mixed with the occult. Set on the fictional island of St Jory off the coast of Wales, it follows a police officer (Anji Mohindra), who’s posted to the island following her ostracism from London for speaking out against corrupt officers. While there, she investigates a cold case revolving around the murder of a boy, despite the lack of cooperation from the residents of the island.

The Red King is available on SBS On Demand. You can watch it here

Music: The Men – Buyer Beware

The fifteenth album by Brooklyn based punk quartet The Men. The Men have been around for 15 – 16 years and innovated in their style, going from hardcore punk to country. In their newest album, they have returned to their roots with guitar driven tracks, described as raw, unfiltered primal relentlessness. Buyer Beware tackles questions both personal and political.

Buyer Beware is avaliable on Bandcamp and on Youtube
