It’s a long weekend coming up – need something to snuggle down and watch but not sure where to start? Want to chill out to some music, but don’t quite know what?

Wayne Massingham is here to help you keep cosy with his weekly recommendations on film, music, and television.

Film: The Assessment

Television: Bad Sisters

An Irish dark comedy set in Dublin, about five close-knit sisters who have always looked out for each other. But when the toxic brother-in-law they all wanted dead actually dies, their bond is tested like nothing before.

Bad Sisters Seasons 1 and 2 are available on Apple TV+

Television: Dinosaur

In this Scottish comedy drama television series set in Glasgow, paleontologist Nina enjoys her life living with her sister Evie, but is shaken when her sister is suddenly engaged. Season 1 is out now, and the show has been renewed for Season 2.

Dinosaur Season 1 is available on SBS OnDemand

Album: Possession, from Ty Segall

This warm hug of an album is Segall’s 16th, and moves back to his classic garage-rock style after some more experimental albums. It features really great guitar, augmented by horns and strings arranged by long term collaborator Mikal Cronin. Add in lyrics co-written by Matt Yoka, and it’s great warming listen on a chilly evening.

Possession is available at Drag City
