Western Sydney University lead Cybersecurity Aid Centre

An initiative that began during Covid-19 as a university exercise where students contacted small businesses regarding security problems, a lack of human contact and support net to combat cyber incidents was apparent.

Led by Western Sydney University in partnership with leading New South Wales cybersecurity businesses, the federal government is now investing in a ‘Cybersecurity Aid Centre‘ that is to be included in the 2020 Australian Cyber Security Strategy budget.

The centre that is to be located in Parramatta will offer training and support for small businesses across Australia to safely respond to Cyber incidents.

This morning we were joined by project leader and Professor in Cyber security and behaviour at Western Sydney University, Alana Maurushat.
