Where is ‘team Australia’? – a closer look at Sydney’s covid protest
Protestors in Sydney reached a boiling point, pouring into the streets of Sydney’s CBD chanting “freedom” from what has been a comparatively short period of lockdown.
The Government is now concerned that the protest will be a super spreader event and while many have been critical of the group of over 3000 protestors, calling their actions selfish and insightless, the idea of a united ‘Team Australia’ is starting to sound more and more like political spin.
Tina Quinn spoke with Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology at the University of Queensland, Alex Haslam, who co-authored the book ‘Together Alone’, where he explains how psychology could be our greatest tool against coronavirus and why is simply telling people to do the right thing not cutting the mustard.
