Why is Toilet Paper Flying off the Shelves?

In Australia, it is not unusual for us to experience shortages from time to time. Bushfires and flooding are two examples of events that might impact our access to goods – especially for those close to severely affected areas. However, the recent panic buying of certain items in response to the Coronavirus is itself creating temporary artificial shortages. What is going on? And why is toilet paper in such high demand? The Daily spoke with Nitika Garg, Associate Professor of Marketing at UNSW Business School, for her insights into the consumer behaviour at play.
