Will A Federal Anti-Corruption Body Restore Faith In Our Politicians?

Following the revelations uncovered by the New South Wales anti-corruption watchdog ICAC and other bodies across Australia, many have called for a Federal anti-corruption body to deal with issues surrounding transparency and influence in our political process.

Now, the idea is gaining some serious traction, with Opposition Leader Bill Shorten using his address at The National Press Club yesterday to pledge his support for a National Integrity Commission with the goal of “restoring people’s faith in their representatives and the system”.

The Greens Spokesperson for Justice Senator Nick McKim has been one of those people calling for a Federal anti-corruption body and he joined us on The Daily.
