What will be the future of employment with the presence of robots in a ‘gig economy’?

Robotics and AI have fascinated us with the changes they have brought to innovation and how technology will continue to change the future of our daily lives.

Well, the workforce is an essential part of this future and will continue to evolve rapidly, with the presence of robotics and various technologies in what is now becoming a ‘gig economy’

So what will the future of employment look like with robotics and various other technologies and can Australian labour laws adapt to the changes that these technologies will bring to the future of employment?

Dr Louise Floyd, Associate Professor at the JCU school of law, joins me to discuss this and more.

Dr Floyd is the author of a book titled ‘Employment Labour and Industrial Law in Australia’, which explains employment and labour law and the industrial issues facing the future of the workforce in Australia.
