Wine Chat: Wine Fraud

1 out of every 5 bottles of wine sold is said to be fraudulent, Maureen Downey estimates it cost the industry $3 billion a year. But what does it mean for wine to actually be fraudulent? To dive into the dark topic we are joined by BSC: Wine Science student Cal Lee to lead us into the seedy underbelly of wine fraud.

2023, Aller Trop Loin ‘Sweetness & Light’ Riesling, Bendigo, Victoria
Named after 1993 club banger, this skin contact Riesling has matured out of its all night raves into gourmand territory. With finely detailed tannins and a bracing acid line this wine has matured into notes of nectarine and ripe peach. Great to drink now but will continue to mature for many more years to come.
