Worm Farms: The Future of Sustainability Buried in Your Backyard

Trying to reduce your impact on the environment? Aren’t we all? So let’s start in our very own backyard!

Composting has long been an alternative to the rubbish truck that wakes you up every morning at some ungodly hour, However, most people are unaware of just how important worms are to breaking down your soiled cardboard or food scraps.

Better yet, you can farm them yourself! Set armies of worms to slave away in your compost bin, reducing the waste for you. (They’re not slaving away – they actually love it!)

We spoke to Gaby Ho, the Events and Projects Coordinator at the Canberra Environment Centre, about this perfect DIY sustainability project.
