A Relatives Online DNA Test Could Be Used In Your Court Case

What can we learn from a person’s DNA? Personality traits maybe? Or behavior? Could I know what you are like from the DNA of your aunty?

This week the University of Sydney researchers published an article in the Conversation that posed this spooky question. They asked “Would you like to have people assess your behavior from what your great aunt has done? How would you feel if courts used data gained from them to decide how you are likely to behave in the future?”.

It’s an interesting scenario and one that Dr. Allan McCay and Christopher Lean stated could be a possibility in the future.

The Daily decided to ask Christopher Lean, a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Sydney Law School about this article.
