Your Life Through a Projector

Small Artist-Run spaces are a place for local artists and installation work that deal with and interrogate space, place, and media forms, however they are tiny, underfunded, and run purely on volunteer time and energy. Despite this, they are responsible for up to 82% of Australian international touring and 78% of national and regional touring of galleries. What can spatial-based art tell us about our world, beyond any other medium? Why do they matter?

Ahead of his exhibit ‘Interminable Present’ at the Articulate gallery in Leichhardt, Samuel James was here to speak about his work and video art.
