Australia’s population puzzle

Australia has a growing population that is expected to pass 40 million by 2050. As the roads get more crowded in our cities, we ask what we can sustain. Or at least, how can we better distribute our population. Dick Smith thinks we should try to manage 30 million. Others, such as former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd say closer to 40 million. 2ser producer Jack Smith went to the experts and asked a group of demographers what they think Australia can manage.
