Addressing chronic disease prevention in Indigenous communities

Chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes, are the greatest contributor to the health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians – and all these diseases are preventable.

A research project lead by Nikki Percival at the University of Technology Sydney is working to bridge the divide between primary health care and community health organisations, who particularly in regional communities, often work exclusively from one another.
