Nannas hold a ‘knit-in’ in Sydney to protest against CSG

Do you need to have the loudest voice to make your local politician take notice?

A group of protesting grandmas don’t think so.

More than 20 grandmothers from Illawarra Knitting Nannas Against Gas are protesting in a ‘knit-in’ against coal seam gas.

The knitters will gather at the office of Labor MP for Sydney Tanya Plibersek at 11 o’clock to bring attention to the issues around coal seam gas mining and exploration.

So could knitting needles and yarn be the key to getting politicians to address coal seam gas?

To find out more, we were joined by Nanna Annie Marlow, a member of the Illawarra Knitting Nannas Against Gas.
