Sands Australia

In Australia, it is estimated that one in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage each year, while approximately 3,000 babies are either stillborn or die in the first 28 days after birth. Despite these startling and sad statistics that affect so many people every year, the topic is still not talked about very openly in public. SANDS is an Australian charity that supports parents who have been affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.

We were joined by Catherine, a parent supporter at SANDS, to talk about how she became involved with SANDS and the opening of a new SANDS support group in Rozelle, Sydney.
