Do We Still Need the ATAR?

There has been a lot of talk in past couple years about the ATAR and whether it is the best way to select students for university courses. It has been researched that many students are able to get into courses well below the ATAR cut off and in 2014, only one third of students got their place in universities on their ATAR alone. This has been something that had much consideration in the past few years, however many people think that there is more to the issue that we need to talk about.

Today we were joined by Shane Duggan, Lecturer in Youth Studies and Teacher Education at the University of Melbourne to talk more about this issue.
