With a sound as confident and fleshed out as Floodlights’, it’s hard to believe that the band only got together 2 years ago, with half of their members learning instruments to be in the group.

Guitarist and harmonicist Ash Kehoe speaks to 2SER’s Music Director Steph Liong about an epic Melbourne to Kimberley road trip as a source of inspiration, historical awareness when it comes to songwriting, and learning the harmonica from her dad and pub bands. She begins by detailing the quick two day turn around when it came to recording their debut album ‘From a View’ at the renowned Head Gap Studios in Melbourne, with master producer Nao Anzai.

‘From a View’ is out now on Spunk Records.
