Colonial Australia and Native Food
It’s difficult to pinpoint what exactly makes up Australian ‘cuisine’. New evidence has emerged revealing how European settlers to Australia incorporated indigenous ingredients and foods into their own. Journals and diaries from settlers reveal enjoyment of recipies such as kangaroo soup and bush turkey pie.
How much did early Australian settlers adopt native food, and how much of it remains today?
