The Wet Tropics Management Authority board has this week said that wet tropical rainforest in Queensland is being affected by climate change with a similar level of damage as coral bleaching in the Great Barrier Reef. Some species in the ecosystem are at risk of extinction with an accelerating rate of decline in the health of the rainforest. Rising temperatures are expected to continue to affect the world heritage listed rainforest in the future. The Daily spoke to Chair of the board, Leslie Shirreffs.
