Abortion emerges in the debate as Queensland Election heats up

As the Queensland Election heats up, the issue of abortion has emerged in the debate, after Robbie Katter stated he would push for a private members bill to overturn Queensland’s decriminalisation of abortion.
The issue has left opposition leader David Cristafulli in a tricky spot where he stated that he wouldn’t change the laws but hasn’t said he would stop his MPs from a conscience vote.
Reproductive right advocates are concerned about what they perceive as a lack of guarantee from the LNP but experts predict this issue wouldn’t be on the minds of Queensland voters.
