Is the secret of art simplicity?

The Dutch golden age of art is widely renowned for it’s exceptional quality. Coming into fruition during the 17th-century this movement prides itself on a delicate uniqueness. The Art Gallery of New South Wales is presenting a series of three lectures, each of which covering an influential painter of the era. These aim to examine why these artists are so celebrated and why this period was so distinct in the history of the visual arts.

Josephine Touma, senior coordinator of public programs at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and a speaker at the event spoke with the Daily earlier.
