10 Years of NAPLAN – National Improvements in Reading & Numeracy, Decline in Writing
The release of the annual NAPLAN results this week also marked ten years of NAPLAN testing. School students from around the country in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit the tests examining reading, writing and numeracy. Reports comparing NAPLAN results over the ten years of testing have found improvement nationally in reading and numeracy levels but a decline since 2011 in writing. Professor Kathy Mills, Professor of Literacies and Digital Cultures at Learning Sciences Institute Australia at the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane joined us on The Daily to discuss these recent findings.
