Afrobeats is one of the fastest growing pop genres in the world. We got a taste of it earlier this year at Coachella and in the new Lion King remake but now we’re about to experience it right here in Australia with 1Dance Africa – a cultural and rhythmic African experience happening in Sydney and Melbourne in October. It’s the first of it’s kind in Australia, bringing live Afrobeat music to our cities. Gerang from Taliberry Entertainment joined us in the studio to talk all about the festival, how and why it’s made its way down under.

The 1Dance Africa features a lineup of international and local artists, including Wizkid, Yemi Alade and Harmonize and is happening in Sydney on October 11 at the Hordern Pavilion.
