New Inequalities Discovered in 2025 HILDA Survey Results

Since 2001, the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia survey has provided a snapshot of the way Australian households live their lives, providing data on family relationships, health, income, and employment, among other factors. 2025’s results are no exception, however, the findings show some staggering new statistics showing trends that are creating a further divide in the gender gap compared to statistics found in the 2002 survey results.

Professor Roger Wilkins, co-director of the survey and Professorial Fellow at the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research joined Rupert on Tuesday Drive to discuss these key findings and the factors contributing.
