2025 National Close The Gap Day

20 March is National Close the Gap day, a day to acknowledge the need to close the gap in health, justice and education outcomes between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
In 2018, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG), which includes Federal, state and territory, and local governments, agreed to establish the Joint Council on Closing the Gap.
In 2020, every state and territory signed up to the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, committing to action to implement the four priority reforms for working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and progress action on the 17 socio-economic targets by 2031.
Recent data from the productivity commission shows only four of those 17 targets are on track.
Kate Sinclair, Justice and Equity Centre Solicitor and Dharug woman joined 2SER Breakfast to discuss what needs to change.
