Should You Stay or Should You Go? We reckon stay and keep reading our New Music Report

Starting with Nouvelle Vague, Parisian cover band bringing slinky and smooth covers of 80s new wave and synth-pop standards done in a bossa nova style. Bossa Nova meaning new wave in Portuguese, Nouvelle Wave (new wave in French) we see what you did there…and we love it! Back to the album Should I stay or Should I Go, inspired by vocalist Alonya’s rendition of The Clash’s song of the same name. This is the groups tenth album which amplifies the timeless significance and continued impact of Nouvelle Vague’s musical legacy.

Feeling homesick? Local jangle-rock 4 piece Sachet releases new album The Seeing Machine with their signature prog-pop sound, rolling rhythms and endearing lyrics. This will be the Eora based groups’ first album to feature drummer Kate Wilson who joined the band in 2019 and is for fans of The Feelies, Pylon. The seeing machine is a perfect meld of melodic bass lines, intertwining guitar riffs and hooks all packaged together in 4 tracks available for download or on cassette.

New EP out from Eora trio ARSE, the album Kaputt will be the hardcore bands first extended release since 2019’s Safe Word EP. Raw, searing and thrashy hardcore form the local outfit, who belt out a series of relentless, enraged takedowns of everything from climate change denialism to crooked law enforcement, along with virtuosic guitar and drum work. ARSE are Dan Cunningham (vocals, guitar) | Jonathan Boulet (bass) | Tim Watkins (drums). A quote found on their bandcamp says “MY HEAD’S IN A VICE! AND IT DOESN’T FEEL NICE!” that of which is totally valid, we think your ARSE would be Kaputt if your head was in a vice :’)

Orion marks the third album release for Swedish four-piece Dina Ogon (“Your Eyes” in english). A beautifully conceived album of hazy, dreamlike modern “scandi-soul” and pop with a strong influence of tropicalia and Brazilian disco. This album is a perfect addition to your lazy Sunday morning and boasts easy beats with resounding vocals that get you lost in a funk filled day dream. Dina Ogon are Anna Ahnlund (vocal) Daniel Ogren, Guitar and Chistopher Cantillo on Drums and Love Orsan on Double Bass
