300 epilepsy related deaths each year in Australia

Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) is where a person living with epilepsy dies without warning and the post-mortem fails to establish another cause of death.
Half of the people dying in Australia every year from epilepsy related causes are from SUDEP.
But there is a lot people can do to help people who have epilepsy – often just being there can make a real difference.
