3MT Anna Grogan: Abstract Conversations in Early Childhood Learning
Abstract conversations can make us think more deeply about the world around us. Abstract talk is about things outside the here and now, it is more speculative and engages critical thinking. Hence, abstract talk is critical in the classroom environment between educators and young children as it helps with their cognitive development. Anna Grogan is a PhD candidate and an entrant in Macquarie University’s 3 Minute Thesis competition who is studying the variations of abstract talk across classroom. I spoke with Anna to discuss more.
