Exhibition: 40 Years of 2SER
Join us at 107 Projects in Redfern between the 10th and 20th of October as we celebrate the rich and vibrant history of 2SER with our specially curated exhibition, ’40 Years of 2SER’. This exhibition will explore a plethora of stories and events from the last four decades by using images, audio, and artefacts from 2SER’s eccentric archives.
Since our very first broadcast in 1979 2SER has worked tirelessly to bring Sydneysiders a wide variety of stories, ideas and music – and hasn’t it been a wild ride along the way! Over the past four decades thousands of volunteers have worked to create hundreds of programs for millions of listeners and we think that is something worth celebrating.
Find out more about 2ser’s people, guests, technical achievements, and at least some of its trouble-making past…
Dig into the music scenes and social movements that 2SER helped shape and propel!

This interactive exhibition reveals insights from those who’ve appeared on air, worked behind the scenes, and the listening public whose communities have been enhanced by hearing themselves in station programming.
Highlights include original documents and artefacts never before shown to the public, as well as new interviews with key people who helped build the station’s legacy. Journalists, musicians, artists, policy makers and even a politician or two – and that’s just the people who have stayed in touch!
Around the city, the country and around the world – the further we have looked, the more links back to the station we’ve found. We will invite even more engagement from those who have already played their part, as well as those behind the scenes who have keep us going. Supporters, listeners, champions, friends – all are welcome to help us mark this massive milestone. It’s not always been pretty, clean or clear, but the hits and misses have all been part of the fun.
You can also take a look through the 2SER archive with our ‘Deep Dive in the 2SER Archive’ segment, hosted by Dr Liz Guiffre and Jess Klajman; as well as add your name to our honour roll or join our alumni Facebook group.
