600 Men Refuse to Leave Manus Island Detention Centre
The Manus Island Detention Centre was officially closed on Tuesday. Despite power, water and food supplies having all been withdrawn, 600 men have refused to leave the centre due to a number of fears surrounding the alternative accommodation provided and the treatment they will receive from locals. Natasha Blucher, Detention Advocacy Manager from the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre joined us on The Daily to talk about how this humanitarian crisis will continue to unfold.
